CURRENT KWANCHAI PROJECT

We were there to celebrate our clients 9th year anniversary. Setting the scene with Miami flair, enjoying authentic Cuban delights along with tasty mojitos and tropical cocktails. We are excited to announce Amber carrying Kwanchai Vodka, filling the night with the energy of South Beach.

Lakeside School, a private/independent school located in the Haller Lake neighborhood of Seattle for grades 5-12. We were so happy to get the call to help design their eighth grade graduation party. Starting with a Surfin' theme, our design team created custom designed invitations and t-shirts for each student. Then we were excited for the transformation, setting up for a memorable beach party celebration, Surf's Up!

A spectacular, all-star production for this vip opening of this senior living community in Lynnwood. Guests were welcomed with spotlights in the sky and a personalized red carpet step-and-repeat to have their photos taken. A Gatsby inspired celebration, from the bright lights to the glitz and glamour, from the 6 piece jazz band to dancing flappers and a highlight was the strolling champagne dress. Each detail we designed from the Art Deco Period, including the seafood ice bar and vodka luges. Our client's wish was to entertain their special guests and also to keep the champagne flowing!

Our long time client, President of the historic Rainier Club, asked Jonathan to help design their special event for the Board of Trustees. We love working in beautiful settings and the bonus, teaming back up with Kay Catering!

Jonathan partnership with Jake Talks shows his commitment to the importance of community. JAKE (Joyfully Awaken to Knowledge & Empowerment) was born as a simple idea: to share relevant, engaging and thought-provoking ideas that inspire. Our mission is to create an inspired enviroment that will be memorable.The JAKE Speakeasy was presented in 1920s prohibition era-style with a queer twist: a roaring atmosphere, hosted bar featuring classic speakeasy cocktails alongside the Kwanchai Dirty Martini and live entertainment.

Majestically located on Crystal Ridge overlooking Klamath Lake, Oregon, Quail Park provides the finest in an enriching retirement lifestyle. Kwanchai flew down to design the VIP Grand Opening of their Memory Care building in this beautiful location for the festive event. We enjoyed working with Livingcare Lifestyles team to create this fundraising event for the Kalamath Falls community including the Alzheimer's Association.

This new and socially connected company asked us to help with their layout and design details for this special launch event. Jumpit Media, a multi-media marketing and consulting agency specializing in digital media, branding, and engagement. We love every time we get to work with this exciting company. The venue, Lively, tucked away in the SoDo district of Seattle, a state of the art hybrid recording studio/venue. Guest enjoyed an evening of libations, hors d'oeuvres and live entertainment, you could say "This Night Totally Rocked'!

We teamed up with Kay Catering to create a Holiday Party for this Toyota and Nisson Dealerships at the beautifull Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo. This modern venue with an incredible view of the puget sound was a fantastic background for this company's yearly holiday party. We created food stations for this event for each guest to be able to socialize, greeted by champagne cocktails and treated to satay and noodle bars. For entertainment we had Hit Expolosion on the scene!

The IMAGINE fashion show is an annual highlight for the International Academy of Design & Technology. This formal event took place in the iconic Stewart Street Room at the Macy's in Downtown Seattle and Kwanchai was asked to create the VIP Lounge with champagne and hors d'oeuvres. The event's director shared, "We want to create a glamourous experience for our guests. We are going for elegance."

Jonathan "Puts A Bird On It" in Portlandia! Kwanchai went to Portland to help Microsoft with their regional conference. We enjoy traveling with our clients and making sure every detail is taken care of. To personalized this event we started with the visual media design concept for the invites and signage to then creating the guest welcome bags filled with goodies. Jonathan just can't wait to get on the road again!

This event was Kay Catering's Launch Event at the Kwanchai Studios . We have teamed up once again and created an event for her special guests to help celebrate with her culinary creations & cocktails. Guest were greeted with a sakitini and enjoyed a creative menu of asian inspired bites. Jonathan loves the collaboration and the way they compliment each other. The take-away, kimchi, It's all in the details!

In celebration of ten successful years in Seattle, a local real estate company hosted a fabulous speakeasy-inspired prohibition era bash to thank friends and clients.

Guests arrive to a nondescript door which opened to an unexpectedly beautiful gallery. KWANCHAI transformed this blank slate into luxurious quarters befit of the 1920s to draw party-goers into an exuberant night of sipping, nibbling, gambling and dancing. Feathers, fancy hats and French 75's abounded!

The family-run Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant celebrated its 18th year in business by welcoming friends and family to a summery Seattle evening of dinner, cocktails and live music. KWANCHAI provided print and event services, from designing custom invitations to securing the live jazz trio as well as coordinating the permitting and decor of a 30' x 60' tent erected on the premise for this special occasion.

Jonathan was asked to put his touch onto this charity's after-party. The Celebrity Waiters Luncheon was founded in 1985 by a dedicated group of Seattle business leaders with a passion for serving the community. The goal of the event was to raise money and awareness for an important cause and to have fun doing it. This 30th Annual Seattle Celebrity Waiters Luncheon and Auction was for the Millionair Club Charity with an 80's style theme. The venue for this event was located at the Mercedes Benz of Seattle showroom. Guests were entertained by Johnny Lee, an American country music singer, known for his 1980 single, "Lookin' for Love" and that is where the theme "Urban Cowboy" was born.

Let's get this party started and get cookin! We team up with Maxwell Meals to create a birthday events that gets everyone involved. Their mission, "Eat Well, Be Well", creating meals with the freshest seasonal ingredients. The setting, Laurelhurst Community Center, which offers a wide array of programs and special events in one of Seattle's most charming neighborhood. Our team loves our collaboration and we enjoy designing special details to create sweet memories for our clients.

W Seattle needed a special atmosphere to entertain Starwood's top sales people and KWANCHAI was their first and only call. KWANCHAI designed every detail from flower arrangements and decor to lighting and visual effects. The lobby was transformed into a swanky "meet and greet" bar with W Seattle's signature cocktails and hors'd oeuvres while Earth and Ocean restaurant was reinvented as a hip Moroccan lounge with live musical grooves. To our delight, many W Seattle staff praised the decor and remarked that they would like to see the KWANCHAI-designed lounge to remain!

This home-style BBQ summer event is for the Eagle Sevens, the US national rugby team while they trained in Seattle in preparations for the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Russia. Kwanchai enjoys helping to create the setting and letting the clients enjoy their own event. It's always a great time for a party and we love teaming up with Melissa of Maxwell Meals. The menu is always creative, exceptional and with freshest of local ingrediants. She gets us to eat better!

W Seattle celebrated it's 10th Anniversary with a fabulous Film, Fashion & Music soiree!

KWANCHAI inspiration provided the key design elements for this grand event, from Hollywood-inspired lighting and futuristic projection screens to soaring fabric panels and sparkling, bejeweled centerpieces.

What a night of lavish music, revelry and red carpet entrances!

El Zacatecano is one of the oldest and best-selling mezcal brands in Mexico has been brought stateside by locals Edgar Martinez and Gene Juarez. This 'Zac' tequila tasting was set in Munich Evolution, a local retail warehouse for fine cars.

The International Doggie Fashion Show Competition at Hotel 1000 in downtown Seattle was an all star production for a great cause. A place for a dog was designed into the clothes by students of the Art Institute of Seattle. High Maintenance Bitch, Hotel 1000 and Connecting Borders Foundation held the event to raise money and awareness for the Azul Wasi orphanage in Peru. We enjoyed teaming up again with fellow designer Kelli Patch to create another fun and inspired event design.

Kwanchai's misson was to transform the Melrose Market Studios event space for Connecting Borders' annual fundraiser and this year an "urban circus" is coming. This themed affair featured entertainment that delighted and fascinated the guests with incredible acts by amazing performers. The event also included a silent auction and raffle throughout the evening, with some incredible items. Proceeds from the event went to benefit Connecting Borders Foundation, a non-profit humanitarian organization that works with children and people living in poverty through hands on monetary giving, scholarships and internship opportunities. The goal is to help each individual obtain their full potential with personal community support and training. Wow, what a great mission!

For the REFRESH event premiere sponsored by Seattle Homes & Lifestyle Magazine, KWANCHAI worked with organizers, Kelli Patch and Trish Barnett, to create an event for the architecture, design and art communities. This event drew over 400 attendees to Greenwood's Urban Light Studios.

KWANCHAI provided graphic media for event with invites and video presentations, along with event promotional decor. REFRESH exhibited innovative products from 12 leading vendors along with original works by 12 local artists, including paintings by Jonathan Mathews.

Nijo Sushi Restaurant's 5th Anniversary celebration took form as an "Asian Sleepy Hollow" marking the full moon of Halloween 2009. KWANCHAI converted a vacant 5,000sq/ft retail space on Seatte's Furniture Row into a hip, one-night pop-up, festive party space.

KWANCHAI set Seattle abuzz weeks before the event with custom designed graphic media. 300 sexy, tantilizing guests partied into the wee hours. To mark this special occasion, Japanese artist, Boshiko, painted a custom dragon watercolor piece during the event as a gift to Nijo owner, Jasmine Mac.

KWANCHAI hosted an artist reception in April 2010 featuring new sculptural works by Larry McLaughlin. The reception marks McLaughlin�s return to South Lake Union where he previously collaborated with Kwanchai for a showing in April of 2009. Seattle joins Scottsdale, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, New York, Montreal and Paris with venues showcasing McLaughlin�s work.

In conjunction with his visit to Seattle, the Mercer Island Arts Council announced the installation of four additional McLaughlin sculptures to their existing McLaughlin collection at the Outdoor Sculpture Park.

This event celebrated Pride Week in Seattle at Purr Cocktail Lounge. The concept feature a rainbow color each day of the week, 9 lives in 9 days in 09, starting with a Weekend of White, moving through the rainbow to the following weekend with DJ Joe King and The Block Party with LA DJs, The Perry Twins. The week ended with the full spectrum Pride Party on Sunday.

In collaboration with owner and staff at PURR, KWANCHAI developed a concept for the week that was eco-conscious with innovative uses of recycled materials for the event decor. IN addition, events graphics and media were designed by the Kwanchai Team.

Marination Mobile - rated "America's #1 food cart" by Good Morning America - contacted KWANCHAI to design their tables at the 18th annual 'Art of Dining, Women's Funding Alliance' hosted at the Fremont Studios in Seattle. A very special evening benefiting women and girls in the Puget Sound region. Jonathan wanted to create a tablescape that would compliment the branding colors of our client's business and have some glitz and glamour. We designed an japanese inspired centerpiece and a napkin fold of a white lotus, dinner on us!

We were asked to be involved in this charity event, Bodacious Vaudeville, an evening of vaudeville entertainment, combined with a celebration of some of Seattle's finest fashion and entertainment, all in the spirit of celebrating every shape and size and feeling beautiful inside and out. Proceeds from the event will benefit Cierra Sisters, an organization that supports women recovering from and living with breast cancer. This event was held at Vertical World - America's first climbing gym located in the Magnolia Neighborhood in Seattle. It provided a unique venue for our arealists, burlesque performances, and live music.

KWANCHAI brought a Southeast Asian vibe to the Stacy Logan Showroom 3rd Anniversary Celebration. In addition to catering the event with Jonathan's authentic Thai recipes, KWANCHAI also supplied the staff, bartender and DJ. To round out the evening, KWANCHAI created a disco for guests to dance the night away. With simple design and creative collaborations, KWANCHAI can translate any event into a world class experience.

Arrow Flight Club hosts this VIP Celebrity Softball Game reception party at a private hangar at Boeing Field in Seattle. Seahawks players landed at the airfield in a private jet and then walked the red carpet to greet guests to take photos and sign autographs. Kwanchai teamed up again with some of our favorite companies for a great cause. Proceeds from the event went towards Richard Sherman's charity and we were glad ot be a part of this exclusive event.

KWANCHAI hosted the evening at Kwanchai Studio with Private Sushi Chef Naomi. This international law firm wanted to create a setting for their Summer Interns which encouraged festivities, entertainment and mingling. The event commenced with a traditional Japanese sake toast and continued with guests learning Japanese dining traditions and how to make sushi rolls and hand rolls.

KWANCHAI designed the Halloween Fundraiser for Gay City/Seattle Men's & Women's Chorus.

For this Halloween party, Sleepy Hollow meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Seattle's Waterfront. Gay City Health Project, Seattle Men's Chorus and Seattle Women's chorus host a Halloween party for 1000 festive guests at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center at Pier 66.

KWANCHAI's stage design served as the backdrop for this start of summer fashion show, spotlighting recent works of designers from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Hosted by Danish skincare specialist, Ole Henriksen, and attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden, with surprise guest, Seattle Sounders' Freddie Ljungberg.

Syttende Gay Returns! Hej! May 17th, the Norwegian Constitution Day, is Ballard's biggest day of the year with the community hosting one of the largest parades outside of Norway. Syttende Gay came in to existence in 2006 as an annual celebration of Syttende Mai by Seattle's Scandinavian GLBT community. This KWANCHAI created event has evolved into an internationally promoted event with the help of local Ballard blogs, international blogs, Out Travel Magazine and Orbitz Travel.

KWANCHAI spearheaded the event planning of this 7,500 square foot Art Center; located in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. The space was fully staged with lighting and decor to allow attendees to interact to the artists' installations. The private fundraiser tempted 300 guests with conceptual art, fabulous cuisine, original cocktails and opportunity to create art! The evening was highlighted by a suspended trapeze artist performing above the audience while a live jazz band played on.

Jonathan went back to where it all started. He worked as the concierge at hotel while he was going to design school and had a wonderful experience with the Kimpton Hotel Group and said "If i had a chance to choose another career, that would be it"! Inspired by travel and the Pike Place Market, KWANCHAI designed tablescapes and floral arrangements that provided the well-appointed backdrop for a meeting of Seattle's finest concierges that hosted by the Alexis Hotel.

YEAR OF THE RAT 2008! Cafe Metropolitan celebrated the Chinese New Year with a bang!
KWANCHAI created custom floral arrangements and adorned Cafe Metropolitan with shimmering organza and Asian-inspired decor to complement the festive lighting. The New Year celebration was complete with the Traditional Lion Dance, entertainers and fireworks.

Trinity Parish Church (Episcopal), First Hill, Seattle, Washington. Erected 1902; listed as a Seattle city landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places. Kwanchai was there help with this church's community events. We worked with this caterer to help with the design and layout, create custom floral arrangements and add our special touch. The Rev. Bavi Edna "Nedi" Rivera was ordained and consecrated as the first bishop suffragan for the Diocese of Olympia, she is the first Latin American woman bishop and only the 12th woman bishop to be ordained in the historic episcopate of the Episcopal Church. We were happy to be there to share in this special moment.

Kwanchai joined a local Sushi Chef for this open house in the Medical Dental Building. Our client who is an anesthesiologist wanted to have an intimate event for her special clients. Jonathan was there to create the tablescape and custom floral arrangements to lay the foundation for this asian inspired menu. Guest enjoyed creative sushi rolls and assortment of fresh seasonal sashimi. Collaborating on a feast to be served with wine and sake, not a bad gig!

Kwanchai helps a small business take off for their Launch Party in South Lake Union, Seattle. This website design and development company asked for a menu and drink selection where their guest could mix and mingle. This global inspired menu included Latin and Thai with local wines and beers, it was perfect for these young creatives. We enjoy working with smaill businesses and being invited to celebrate with them.

We helped one of our longest corporate clients celebrate The New Year. For each event we enjoy developing a custom theme and design concept that will be festive and memorable. The guests enjoyed a masquerade party filled with beautiful masks at this sushi reataurant and bar in Downtown Seattle and inspired menu and cocktail list was designed to compliment this lux event. What a magical night!
